Uncovering Mount Taylor
Mar 2019
M16 Artspace, Canberra
My work is centred around Mt Taylor, Canberra, where I spend a lot of time walking. During these walks, I observe and absorb the characteristics of the dry rugged bushland.
I used sepia, indigo and black ink wash to create a base of neutral undertones on which to draw. I then draw with markers to make deliberate, scratchy, tentative type lines to define the busyness of the untidy nature of the bush.
