Julie Goodwin

Throughout my life, I have experienced a number of personal difficulties including those related to mental health, past trauma, and raising children. My paintings delve into the intricacies of space, memory, and personal experience. Art has been instrumental in aiding me to not only accept but also overcome the challenges and obstacles I have encountered.

I was born in Warragul, Victoria and grew up in Neerim East, Gippsland. In 1984, I successfully obtained a BA in Fine Art (Painting) from RMIT, followed by a Post Grad Diploma in 1986. Throughout my adult life, I have primarily resided in Melbourne, with a brief period of three years in Canberra. In 2020, I relocated to Castlemaine. Over the course of my career, I have had numerous solo, group and collaborative exhibitions. My work is represented in various public, regional, and private collections.
